The Cape Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge (IWEC) NextGen Development Programme is delighted to announce the two young South African women entrepreneurs chosen as candidates for 2020.

When the State of Disaster was declared by President Ramaphosa there was a national upsurge of fellow-feeling. A desire to help others was rampant, uplifting to see and to experience.

There has been a lot of confusion about issues arising out of the lockdown.   Firstly, there has been confusion about the payment of wages where employees have been ordered to remain at home and not attend work.  The question arises as to whether the employees are entitled to be paid?   Secondly, may the employer place the employees on paid leave during the lockdown period?
